Excuse me while I zoom through...

I just got back from Kingston today and was in the mood to extend my long weekend in the name of skateboarding. I hollered at Mack, Luc, Graham and Andrew and we all went out to get some filming and picture taking done. Everyone got a little bit of something and we even found a little new gem to skate. I don't imagine I'll be doing too much skating this week because work has scheduled me everyday until Saturday...just what you want when the skate season is on a close.

Schralpin' in Kingston

This weekend was a great one. It all started with a bangin' Thanksgiving dinner with my family and then heading off for some great skating. Mother nature was all too kind with the weather as well...I'm talking about sweating with the sun beating down on you, it was awesome! Back on track, Isaac, Joel, their brother Aaron, Cameron and I all headed down to Kingston to get our skate on. We didn't really know what to expect but ended up meeting some of the nicest dudes who were down to show us a bunch of great spots. Everyone ended up with some real gems (footy, photos and new friends) and had a great time. Thanks to Aaron for letting us stay at his place and Soren, Jamie, Brock, Cameron and Francois for showing us a good time.

This is Brock crooking. He had the meanest
pop-outs on these.

Soren, front nose. Pop? Yes.

Honourable mention goes out to Francois for nosesliding my shoulder while trying to backside heelflip some stairs.

A Nice Fall Day

These are the days I really like about Autumn. Sun shining, perfect skate weather(17-20 degrees Celsius) and some homies. I also happened to have school and work off so it was only multiplying the awesomeness of an already great day. I would also like to give a huge thanks to Jon Eby for letting me borrow his digital camera...I owe you heaps!

Quick ollies up and trick over the gap.....not so easy with metal caps threatening your roll-capability.

Isaac, kickflip.

I got film back today too...yummy yummy.

Ninja Cheerleaders

For the weekend Isaac, Joel, Aaron and I headed down to Toronto to get some skating and filming done for the Love promo. We met up with the likes of Matt, Drew, Justin, James, Duke and many others; our crew for the first day was pretty deep. Just as we were getting in to Toronto on Saturday everyone was waking up so a bunch of us warmed up waiting to go out. First spot of the day Aaron got a trick (I would consider it a combo with the dodging traffic aspect) and after being over that spot Drew got a trick as well. Heading on to the UofT area we dorked around on some ledges and Isaac got a trick on a steep bank. The day was coming to a close so we got some dinner and started walking around to check out Nuit Blanche. It was supposed to be an art show but we didn't really see much to check out. By midnight-1am most of us were dead from the day so back to the apartment we went only to have Isaac stoked out to watch some crappy movies.

Sunday was a really mellow day. The city streets were somewhat empty because the art show (Nuit Blanche) had run until sunrise. We took advantage of this but kept it mellow ourselves. Joel got a line somewhere in between and we also met up with Peter. It was around five and we were all pretty tired and hungry so we started heading for the van to give our weekend a close.

On a side note, the sweater weather is finally here. There might be a month left of skating so everyone is really trying to milk the season for what it is. Also, don't ever mess with a cheerleader by day/ninja by night...those chicks can seriously mess shit up.

Joel and Duke doubling as traffic watch.

Next spot.

Duke providing friendly support for James.

Oh yeah, I appologize for having to resort to cell phone pictures. If I could have forseen the early death of my actual digi I would have done something about it.

Noodles going street!

The day was automatically going to be a good one in my books since I had school and work off, double wammy baby. Seizing the greatness of the day I made plans with Scott, Cam, Mack and Lucas to skate it up. We also had a guest arrival of none other than our boy Brandon "Noodles" Papp! The kid has been ripping it up at the park lately and Scott thought it would a great idea to take him to the streets for a day.

Everyone met up at the park where we warmed up and picked out a few spots for the day. After getting kicked out of the wedge (unheard of) I took Scott, Luc and Noodles to a bump over a gap. As luck would have it I had a portable pole jam spot in my trunk so we set that up and got the session going. Scott threw down a few tricks and Luc and Brandon both got their first pole jams in. Scott was so hyped on the session he decided to try and go for a banger trick and ended up rolling his ankle pretty badly. By this time Mack was off school so we went to pick that dude up and dropped Scott off. Cameron was also hanging around the park so he tagged along too.

All of us headed up to Waterloo and started at the min ditches. Fall is setting in so I really had to seize a skart (skate-art) moment with Luc. After finishing up we walked by a high electrical box and joked about skating it with a ramp. Cameron is way too serious for jokes and decided skating it off flat ground would be fine enough for him. Footage locked! The sun was setting (by 7:30pm!) so we checked out a few spots but decided it was good to end the day on that note. Overall I thought the day went really well and was pretty productive, thanks guys!

Scooter, polejam backside 180.

NOODLES, polejam.

Best buds.

Over and out.

Cameron, frontside noseslide.

Sidenote: My digital camera's shutter finally blew out so I probably won't have any updates for a while. If I had it my way film would be processed in 1hour and I'd have it scanned by the night. See you later!

Wallrides are for pussies!

The weekend was a fun one, that's for sure. Not in the sense that we got a ton of bangers but more or less just skating outside of Kitchener. Kitchener is cool, sometimes, but a change is cool. Saturday Isaac, Joel, Byron and Brody skated around Guelph for a bit. We also got to go try out the new concrete park they have there, fun stuff. Sunday was Londay day with a crew consisting of Cam "Trouble" Stokes, Aaron, Isaac and Joel. We also got to meet up with the former Brantford dudes (Jamie, Derek, Andrew and Dan) but now they live in London so I don't think we can call them that anymore. Fuck it! They're the Brantford Dudes forever.

Got some cool skating done, clips filmed and just had a good, sunny weekend in general. The cooler weather is setting in more frequently so everyone is really starting to cherish those "hot" 22 degree Celsius days.

Isaac, nosegrind.

Joel, switch crooked grind.

Aaron, back 180 switch 5050 revert.

Joel, noseblunter.

Just a still.

Andrew did this the same day too but I shot his
on film. This isIsaac digitally backside flipping

Cheers.

Actin' a Fool

Lately we have been getting side weather from the hurricanes down south which has been making the skate dates a little bit more rare. Along with that the cooler weather is starting to hang around more often and all of us know what that means...

But, in between the shitty hurricane weather Cameron (and others, of course) have been able to actually get some skating done. On this particular day it was 35 degrees Celsius with the humidity, strange world.

Cameron with a rather lofty
kickflip.

Here's the footy with me acting a fool in the background. Filmed by Mackenzie.

The Detroit FILM Chronicles

I got the film back from the Detroit trip and let me say, I'm stoked! Here are (most) the shots for your viewing pleasure.

Jim with an ollie in a rock.

Mike Sholar with a front feeble sporting my
custom "flash glare" look.

Who skates a rail while it's wet with no light?
Shaun Hover does. Front smith.

Sorry Mike, I chopped your hand and my flash
didn't fire. Frontboard 14 first go.

Ben, frontside halfcab flip.

Chris, front board.

Daryl with a switch tre. Oh so butter....

Dave coming through with a new spot and
sweet lookin' switch ollie.

This was my last day in Detroit and also one
of my favourite photos. Duke is about to get

That's it boys!

The Detroit Chronicles

I've been home for almost a week now and missing Detroit a bunch. This was the second time around that I was down in Detroit and met even more dudes with even more tricks and even more gnar, it was dope! Anyways, I'm not going to say much as I'll let the photos do the talking but as always, I will be back.

Chris was looking at this gap in ways nobody
has before.

Jim, ollie into the rock. For being
a filmer the dude can throw
down!

Tag Team.

Adam Mueller has got some serious SNAPS!

Duke with a stylish front blunt.

Mike Sholar! This guy is a rail maniac but
you're going to have to wait for the film to see
that.

Duke and Jim...light check.

Rainy Days at Landslide...I'll never forget how
Justin had to drop me off here because he had
to work. Eights hours....eight hours!!!

In the grimiest of the grime Justin seems to be
able to relax with a busted ankle. That's Daryl
getting some hang time.

Chris with a pokey front smith.

Kevin with a back lip in the
Cass Corridor. Being the biology
expert he is, Justin identified human
vertebrae that was just lying
on the ground.

While you're at it check out the video everyone down there is filming for at www.shredtilyerdead.com and the promo is here.

When one walks by a wall and another sees it as a ledge...

You know you've got some serious snaps, not to mention with a broken board. We'll leave the "ledge" photo for another day though. Oh yeah, this is Shaun. A cool ass dude with some mean pop.

Back in the D, fool.

Yes, I'm back in Detroit and milking the last few days of my summer before I'm back to school. I probably won't be making as many blog updates but that's ok, juicier content will ensue. I had a huge heart-breaking moment when I was in the car and Matt told me Justin had rolled his ankle on his trip to Wisconsin after I had last seen him in Toronto. Damn! Anyways, this was my first day (right off the bus) of skating and I met a new guy named Joe and skated with Dave who I had met the last time I was here. We already have some plans for the weekend and everyone already knows Monday is Labour Day...

Dave, backside lipslide.

Joe, front crookie grind.

Joe middle-of-the-ghetto-at-12am

Dave, first go switch ollie.

Got to test out my new Bronica 35mm fisheye too, pretty stoked.
